Beginning of year 1996 security in snow spaces and specifically in off-piste and in non developed wild areas has not yet been handled globally by worldwide mountain equipment manufacturers: you were missing complete equipment allowing you free riding, snowshoeing with utmost security, comfort and functionality. The MORPHO global concept was born from this fact and from this need which you identified as a snowshoer, free rider or skier.

End of December 1996 I have decided to step into this adventure along with an industrial good friend, Daniel Beranger. Daniel is also a ski instructor and had unfortunately broken a couple of his ribs while snowshoeing. We were discussing that the market lacked a security package offer for snowshoes, clothes, mountain boots, simple backpacks and avalanche victim research system that fitted together. MORPHO trademark is registered in France in January 1997 and since extended to 105 countries of the world.

I was labelled as a package pioneer in the snowshoe area by a specialized famous magazine when I first introduced MORPHO prototypes at the Grenoble March 97 SIG exhibition. Grenoble is an Olympic city located in the heart of the French Alps, from where most success stories and mountain innovations are born. Thanks to famous French distributors and retailers involved in mountain and outdoor business, who identified the same needs as I did, the complete MORPHO range is available in France since 97/98.

With first France orders in hand MORPHO snowshoes start penetrating export markets as of winter 98/99 by participating at ISPO winter Munchen exhibition in February 1998 for the first time. Distributors from Spain, Switzerland and Finland join the MORPHO brand.

French Middle mountain guides (AEM) select the MORPHO clothing classic line as their official professional apparel in 1998.

In 1999 MORPHO extends its snowshoe range with the introduction of MIGUET shapes especially designed for women and kids: the first snowshoe for kids on the market with a rigid articulated binding. At the same time MORPHO invents the perfumed snowshoe: a killer in Japan!!! . In addition to provide with a fun feature this invention helps finding people lost in snow areas (not in avalanches) thanks to the MORPHOTRACK perfumed key holder : give it to sniff to a sniffing dog and the dog will find the snowshoe that smells the same !!

In 2000 MORPHO extends its snowshoe range to the whole family by inventing and patenting the “SNOW TRIMARAN” designed for people weighting more than 90 kgs. The TRIM range is born. It allows MORPHO to penetrate Canadian, Finnish and Norwegian markets.

In 2001 MORPHO is awarded Army bids for Norwegian and polish armed forces. The TRIM patent is extended worldwide.

In 2002 MORPHO strengthens its marketing and commercial position in 30 countries of the World and becomes snowshoe leader in Finland.

In 2003 MORPHO invents the MORPHOVOX, morphologic mobile phone hands free Ear set targeted to outdoor sports and activities users.

.In 2005 MORPHO extends the patented TRIM concept to the whole range of snowshoes by creating TRIMMY shapes (for people less than 64 kgs) and TRIMO shapes (for people between 60 and 96 kgs)

In 2006 MORPHO refines the design and functionalities of its snowshoes by introducing a very attractive articulated new binding, a silent kit and beautiful logos sticked on the snowshoes base.

MORPHO is a French prestigious and quality worldwide registered trademark. MORPHO snowshoes are made in France. I remain, MORPHO logically yours.
